Abstract:

AlTiNiMnB x (x=0˙1, 0˙2, 0˙4 and 0˙5) high entropy alloys are prepared by an arc furnace. The results show that the alloys have a single bcc crystal structure. Boron additions lead to distortion of the crystal lattice and alloy strengthening. The highest hardness (779 HV) is achieved with 0˙5 at.-%B.
