Abstract:

Nanocrystalline ZnS has been successfully prepared through a hydrothermal method by the reaction of anhydrous ZnCl2 and NH4SCN at above 160°C. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis indicates that the product was cubic ZnS phase (sphalerite). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) shows that the average particle size is ∼30 nm.
