Abstract:

Gold nanoparticles were prepared by the sonochemical reduction of the aqueous solution of HAuCl4 containing only a little 1-propanol in the present of sodium dodecyl sulfate. The sonochemically synthesised Au nanoparticles were characterised by TEM and UV–vis spectroscopy. Transmission electron microscopy has shown that several different types of gold particles are present, such as tetrahedral plate, decahedral, hexagonal plate and icosahedral multiple twinned particles.
