Field induced enhancement in percolation of granular La0·82Sr0·18MnO3

Abstract:The conductivity of manganese perovskite (La0·82Sr0·18MnO3) fine particles compacts of different densities has been investigated. An evident percolation behavior, which can work only with the aid of the double-exchange interaction, has been observed. The critical compactness and the threshold for the percolation have been estimated. Some concepts have been developed to study the bond continuum percolation. By applying an external magnetic field, a field-induced enhancement in percolation of the granular material has been obtained, and it was also found that the effect increases with decreasing compactness and temperature.
