Abstract:
SAMAG, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pima Mining NL, has acquired exclusive world rights to the Dow Magnesium process and is applying it at the 65 000 t/year Port Pirie project in South Australia. Studies undertaken by the company led to the conclusion that the Dow process not only incurs the lowest operating cost, lowest capital cost and lowest risk of the electrolytic processes for the production of magnesium metal but also offers the best chance of achieving design capacity on time and on budget.Visit the society websites: Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining
