Abstract:This paper acts as an introduction to The Adam Park Project (TAPP) and considers the significance of TAPP for the Second World War (WW2) heritage scene in Singapore, looking at the prevailing strengths and weaknesses of the current heritage sites. The historical background to the site both as a battlefield and a prisoner of war work camp is presented with a discussion of how the work being undertaken at Adam Park could strengthen the current catalogue of WW2 heritage sites in Singapore. It concludes with a brief summary of project objectives, aims, and progress to date.
