Abstract:

This paper considers estimation of target density functions in 'range–angle' coordinates using two beamforming techniques. The distribution of the target densities in range–angle coordinates is estimated utilizing several transmitted beamforms. It is shown that the estimation of the range–angle density function can be achieved utilizing a phased array as well as utilizing a single sensor and transmitting several beamforms.
