Abstract:

A case of Freiberg's infraction of a metatarsal head is reported in a 64-year-old woman, a rare age for presentation of the condition. The diagnosis was delayed, but later made with the use of magnetic resonance imaging. Conservative management led to eventual satisfactory resolution. The differential diagnosis and investigation of forefoot pain is discussed, together with features and management of Freiberg's infraction.
