Abstract:
There is widespread use of biaxial testing of ceramics, but relatively little information concerning the accuracy of testing, and the pitfalls that can arise unless the test is carefully prescribed. The present paper reviews recent work in measuring elastic moduli using a biaxial natural frequency method, and in investigating some of the potential sources of error in strength testing.Document Type: Regular Paper
