Abstract:

The Chemical Heritage Foundation, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has recently acquired a large collection of books (the Roy G. Neville Historical Chemical Library) relating to the history of chemistry from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. This article is intended to notify scholars of the collection and its availability for scholarly use, as well as to provide a short description of a few of its particular strengths that would be of special interest for scholarly study. The Neville Library joins other collections of chemical publications, alchemical artworks, and chemical instrumentation already resident at the Chemical Heritage Foundation.
