Abstract:

The solubility of C60 fullerene in organic liquids is not directly related to any of their physicohemical characteristics, but can be quantitatively described by linear multiparameter equations. The solubility increases with increasing solvent polarizability and decreases with increasing solvent polarity and cohesive energy density. Various types of multiparameter equations proposed in the literature were compared to show that they all are suitable but Koppel-Palm's equation is preferred.
