Abstract:

We have studied the thermal stability of fullerenes, for which there are discrepancies in available literature. A critical temperature of the thermal stability of C60 and C70 molecules was determined by thermodynamic calculations as a function of the pressure and the ratio of carbon to a buffer gas (helium or argon).
