Abstract:

The structure evolution in WC-80G4 steel composite heavily loaded by compression is studied. The fractal properties of the deformation relief appearing on the surface are determined. The fractal dimension of the deformed surface profile is shown to depend on the mean spacing between bands of localized deformation and on the parameters of the material fine crystal structure.
