Abstract:
This paper exemplifies discrete analogs obtained by transformation of the continuum equations governing porous media flow to a system of algebraic equations. To give insight in the underlying physics, the numerical examples are worked out algebraically. The volume-centered approximation turns out to be a reasonable simplification of the algebraically exact face-centered method. Keywords: algebraic equations; discrete analogs; face-centered method; mixed-hybrid method; volume-centered method
