Abstract:

The international conference “Nanomaterials and Coatings in Biomedicine and Sensors, ” dedicated to the problems of preparing and investigating nanomaterials and coatings for biomedicine and sensors, took place in Kiev from August 4-8, 2002 with the financial support of NATO and STCU. Representation from various countries was determined by the conditions of the NATO grant for the conduction of an international conference, under which there was an equal quota of presenters from NATO countries and partner countries. The conference demonstrated that it is necessary to combine the efforts of physicists, chemists, substances scientists and medical specialists in order to solve important problems such as the methods of delivery of medical preparations to ailing cells, removal of dangerous substances and overdoses of medicine from the organs of a person, joint replacement, different types of protheses, etc.
