Abstract:

The influence of plasmochemical modification of carbon fibers on their surface properties and compatibility with the PTFE matrix is investigated. It is shown that the thin PTFE coating formed on the carbon fiber surface improves the wetting of the fibers by PTFE. As a result, the mechanical characteristics of PTFE-based composites are improved.
