Abstract:

Adults with mental illness were given the opportunity to participate in an eight-week creative writing pilot project as an adjunct to their already established vocational therapy. This program was developed in an attempt to address the psychosocial needs of outpatients living independently in the community, the majority of whom had not been exposed to a creative outlet in the past. The following discussion is an overview of those initial eight weeks.
