Abstract:

A method is investigated for early detection of breast cancer through microwave reflection measurement of a bilayered biological tissue. The permittivity difference between the tumor and the normal breast tissue could be detected through microwave reflection measurement. The reflection characteristics of the tumor have been analyzed. Numerical results showed that the reflection coefficient is very sensitive to the tumors.
