Abstract:

The coefficients of diffusion and viscosity of mixtures of binary gases are calculated using a modified lattice-gas model. In addition to the eigenvolume of components and interaction between atoms in a quasichemical approximation which retains the effects of direct correlations of short-range order, this model takes into account three-particle interactions, excluded volume, and the more exact behavior of isotherms in the neighborhood of the critical points using gage functions. The model enables one to perform calculations both below and above the critical temperature. The results of calculations of the generalized diagram of self-diffusion coefficient and of the density dependence of viscosity, constructed by experimental data, are compared with the results of calculation by the lattice model. Results are given of coefficients of inter-diffusion and viscosity of Ar-N2 mixture in wide temperature and density ranges.
