Abstract:
A short overview of various approaches to two- and three-dimensional crack interaction problems is given. Solutions for closely spaced cracks are discussed. It is argued that such solutions are not immediately relevant for the problems of crack coalescence.
Keywords: Crack; interaction; stress intensity factor; effective properties; coalescence.
