Abstract:

The author, who was trained in family therapy by Carl Whitaker and Walter Kempler, feels a moral obligation to both pass on and expand upon ways of thinking and doing family therapy that could very easily become extinct as a result of not knowing the history of family therapy and what may be for lack of any better description the calling of a family therapist to manifest courage in his or her daily work.
