Abstract:

In experiments on outbred albino rats the spectrum of plasma lipids and composition of HDL were studied during the early period of experimental peritonitis. The content of HDL cholesterol, activity of lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase, and intensity of VLDL lipolysis increased. We also revealed accumulation of dihomo-gamma-linolenic, a marker of essential fatty acid deficiency, in HDL cholesterol esters.
