Abstract:

An evolutionary model of quasars and AGNs with magnetic monopoles is proposed. Their energy source is due to nucleon decay induced by the monopoles. Both the mass and the luminosity of quasars and AGNs will gradually decrease in time because their constituent baryons are kept decaying and are transformed into radiation. The physical significance and theoretical predictions of our evolutionary model are stressed.
