International Journal of Bilingualism logo Kingston Press Ltd logo

The "International Journal of Bilingualism" is an international forum for the dissemination of original research on the linguistic, psychological, neurological, and social issues which emerge from language contact. While stressing interdisciplinary links, the focus of the Journal is on the language behavior of the bi- and multilingual individual. Preference is given to research articles which are firmly based on empirical evidence and which seek to develop innovative analytic models and/or to forge new links between established fields. Original research papers which have considerable theoretical and methodological import, either formulating new hypotheses, or supporting or refuting new or previously established models, will be particularly welcome.

The Journal also promotes cross-linguistic studies of language acquisition, development, and impairment, by publishing high-quality research articles in the field. The journal respects the needs and interests of readers at several levels of expertise, from all over the world, and across the spectrum of behavioral and social sciences. In addition to full-length research papers, contributions are accepted in the form of case study reports of laboratory experiments and field observations, short scholarly notes, and critical review articles.

'International Journal of Bilingualism' is now published by Sage and will be removed from IngentaConnect on 17th December 2008. For more information please visit: ijb.sagepub.com
