Radiation‐induced dispersion polymerization of methyl methacrylate using waterborne polyurethane as stabilizer
Abstract:Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) without vinyl groups was synthesized and used as a stabilizer to prepare poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) particles via dispersion polymerization with ‐rays. The WPU molecular structure was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and 1H NMR. PMMA particles were observed using scanning electron microscopy. The grafting reaction between PMMA and WPU was ascertained using 1H NMR. Copyright © 2006 Society of Chemical Industry
