Objective: To establish a method of determination of zinc, potassium, iron, sodium, manganese, calcium, magnesium in cowherb seed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Methods: Microwave digestion system was optimized, adopted on the method corrected by deuterium light background, in the direct flame atomic absorption spectrometry(FAAS)successive determination of various microelement in the same sample solution. Results: Under the optimum conditions, the detection limits were found to be 0.16, 0.57, 072, 0.18, 0.35, 7.4, 0.13 μg·mL-1. And the recovery ratios by standard addition were in the range of 96.8%-102.4% with less than 5% of the relative standard deviation. Conclusion: The method has the advantages of highly effective, simple, environment-friendly, reagents-saving and the digesting speedy.
