To establish method for determination of the total steroidal saponins in Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge.Methods: Extraction twice with 75% ethanol and 30 min every time, and the solid-liquid ratio was 1:8UV detection at 283 nm after reaction with sulphuric acid at 60 in 30 min. Results:In UV spectrophotometry Beer’s law was obeyed within the range of 8.4×10-3-5.04×10-2mg·mL-1the average recovery was 98.92%, with RSD of 0.30%.The solution was stable in 3 hours. Conclusions:The ultrasonication assisted extraction is high efficient and convenient. The UV is simple, rapid and reproducible, and the results are reliable and accurate.
