Detection of Glyburide in Traditional Chinese Medicine by Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Method
An analytic technique using liquid chromatography(LC)coupled with electrospray-mass spectrometry(ESI-MS)has been developed for the identification of glyburide illegally added in traditional Chinese medicine preparations.Methods:The detection was performed on a C8 column with a mobile phase of acetonitrile-water-formic acid(70:30:1).The compound illegally added in traditional Chinese medicine preparations was identified according to the chromatographic behavior and mass spectral data by comparison with those of authentic standard.Results: Glyburide was found in all 6 samples.Conclusion:The method is selectivesensitive and reliablecan be used to detect the illegally added components in traditional Chinese medicine and control the quality.
