To establish a HPLC method for the determination of drug release of domestic subcutaneous implants and containing levonorgestrel in vitro.Method:A horizontal vibration method was applied in this experiment with 60 times per minute, at a amplitude of 2.5 cm.The releasing media was distilled water at(37±0.5). The separation was carried out using ZORBAX ODS (4.6 mm×150 mm, 5 μm) column with mobile phase of MeOH-H2O(70:30).The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1 and the detection wavelength was 247nm.Result:The medium volume was 150 mL and 100 mL for releasing of implants and , respectively. All conditions met the requirements of the “sink condition”. The results showed that the release rates of levonorgestrel from implants and were constant. Conclusion:This method is simple, convenient and accurate. It can be used in the quality control and study of the release of implantsand .
