The experiment results of the rapid detection Escherichia coli in pharmaceutical products by the MUG-Indole method is reported in this paper. This is a new method based on technology using a MUG and Indole in single tube for the identifications and detection of Escherichia coli. The method effectively detected Escherichia coli within 24h.In case of positive results shown with MUG and negative with Indole or negative with MUG and positive with Indole. The proposed MUG-Indole method required further additional IMViC tests should be carrid out.The test scheme has been proved to be successful in reducing false-positive and false-negative results to a minimal acceptable limit levels of the detection of Escherichia coli(1false-negative rate).
