This article considers the changes in the curriculum of Zionist history and Arab- Israeli conflict after the Six Day War and focuses on the conflicts among the institutional arenas where these changes were produced and negotiated. These changes also reflected some of the contradictions evident in post-Six Day War Israeli politics: on one hand, they were required to enhance patriotic education and maintain consensus and on the other to become more inclusive and academic. The article discusses the policy of consensus, its prices and failure.
