Abstract:
The following checklist highlights the specific information Joint Commission standards require an organization to provide to its governance. The checklist also includes standards that require the board to approve specific information or documents to the board. Both instances are included in the checklist because both naturally require information to be provided to your board The Governance includes “the individual(s), group, or agency that has the ultimate authority and responsibility for establishing policy; maintaining quality of care, treatment, and services; and providing for organization management and planning. Governance may be a separate entity or it may fall within the medical advisory or executive committee.” Other names for this group include the board, board of trustees, board of governors, board of commissioners, and partnership.Document Type: Research article
