Abstract:

Over the 10 years, violent crimes accounted for approximately 11% of all hospital crimes. Many health care providers come in contact with violence-prone patients every day and a lot of facilities do not have prevention plans or mechanisms for reporting violence. This article provides tips and strategies for health care organizations to prepare for and prevent acts of violence, as well as identifying potentially violent patients.
