This article discusses strategies for creating and managing a rapid response team, which is one method an organization can use to meet the new National Patient Safety Goal 16A, Improve Recognition and Response to Changes in Patient Condition. The article discusses strategies an organization can use to develop a rapid response team and develop criteria for when that team should be activated, as well as who should be allowed to activate the team.
