Here organizations can find the complete list of the new 2008 National Patient Safety Goals form the Joint Commission, as well as see which requirement was retired for 2008. The article details the one-year phase in period for new goals 3E and 16A. Organizations must meet specific benchmarks for Goals 3E and 16A at three, six and nine months, with full implementation required by January 1, 2009. The article also discusses how the goals are scored.
