Abstract:

Safety protocols are generally designed for the greatest proportion of patients (for example, ambulatory and ortho/neuro patients often get MRIs). But MRIs are being increasingly used for younger, older, and more acute patient populations, and these patients are often not adequately protected by standard MR safety provisions. Pediatric, geriatric, and acute populations will be discussed in terms of their unique needs and issues related to the MR suite.
