Abstract:

Approximately 2.5 million Americans require anticoagulant therapy, which means caregivers are often faced with the struggle of finding the perfect dose of warfarin that must avoid hemorrhagic complications while still sufficiently suppressing thrombosis. This article provides tips for prescribing the proper dosage of warfarin and also discusses the best way to involve patients in their warfarin management decisions.
