Abstract:

As an interim step in an ongoing look at the need for a physical examination when an individual is admitted to a residential treatment center, The Joint Commission has revised a behavioral health care requirement to allow for a physical exam to be conducted no longer than 6 months prior to or within 30 days after an individual's admission to a residential setting.
