Update: Life Safety Code Specialist Role Expanded for Critical Access Hospitals and Hospitals

Abstract:
This article informs the reader that as of June 1, 2008 for critical access hospitals and hospitals, the Life Safety Code Specialist is accepting the electronic Statement of Conditions™ (e-SOC) on the first day of their survey activity. Additionally, effective June 1, 2008 for critical access hospitals, the Life Safety Code Specialist will be surveying the entire "Environment of Care" (EC) chapter. Effective January 1, 2009 for critical access hospitals, the Life Safety Code Specialist will survey the entire EC, "Life Safety," and "Emergency Management" chapters.Document Type: Research article
