Abstract:
Cluttered corridors was the most common compliance issue for hospitals surveyed during the first half of 2009, with 45% receiving a Request for Improvement. To solve its clutter problem, New York Hospital Queens chose a strategy that is far from common: They added the issue as a deficiency to its Statement of Conditions™. This article describes how they corrected the deficiency by developing a long-term fix—one that will eliminate the clutter once and for all.Document Type: Research article
