Abstract:
Patient handling and movement is one of the most challenging and dangerous aspects of patient care. In 2005, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ranked nursing eighth among occupations that report work-related musculoskeletal disorders involving days away from work. This article discusses safe lifting equipment and how a no-lift policy can be beneficial to patients, staff, and the organization itself.Document Type: Research article
