Abstract:
Health care workers are exposed to dangerous surgical smoke every day. At high concentrations the smoke causes ocular and upper respiratory tract irritation and can create visual problems for the surgeon, yet broad adoptions of laser safety guidelines and smoke evacuation systems have yet to take hold.
