Abstract:This interdisciplinary study examines the loss of narrative innocence in adolescents' narratives. The study analyzes the development of narrative consciousness and narrative writing abilities by comparing and contrasting the narratives of children (ages eight to eleven) with those of adolescents (ages fifteen to eighteen) from public schools in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The methodology used is literary analysis.
