abstract = "In the unresolved issues article by Ben Amor et al., Preventing the next generation of extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (IJTLD 2010; 14(5): 525527), it has been pointed out that the term XDR-TB was defined by the authors as both extensively and extremely drug-resistant tuberculosis, which can create confusion. The correct term is extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis. We apologise for the oversight.The case in question turned out to be one of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), and not XDR-TB, as had originally been diagnosed.",
