Both universities and corporations must commit people and resources to capture the benefits implicit in a corporate-university R&D/technology relations program. When implementing such a program, benchmarks exist to help set a budget, identify relevant partners, and identify and evaluate operational features. Program budgets can be set either by benchmarking specific industries, or through a "bottom-up" approach based on the selection of "Key Universities."
