Dimensionality and lock-in transition in Tl2Ba2CuO6 single crystal

The lock-in transition on good-quality over-doped Tl2Ba2CuO6 single crystal was investigated. The observed sharp drop, a dip and a peak together in the flux flow resistivity [iopmath latex="$\rho(\theta)$"] () [/iopmath] as the magnetic field angle [iopmath latex="$\theta$"] [/iopmath] with the c-axis approaches [iopmath latex="$90^\circ$"] 90° [/iopmath] have been ascribed to vortex phase transitions of different types. A demonstration of the inadequacy of the two models of the angular dependence of the upper critical fields to explain this phenomenon is presented here.
