Abstract:

A scanning Hall probe has been applied for observing the spatial distribution of the trapped magnetic field in superconducting Ag-sheathed Bi2223 tapes. Tapes with a transport of have been imaged with a spatial resolution of . Non-uniform field-profiles are often observed and attributed to some imperfections in the oxide core. Hall-probe micrography is thus quite useful for non-destructive examination of Ag-sheathed Bi2223 tapes.
