Abstract:

A new interpretation for the two new rotational bands in the 102Nb nucleus is presented. These two bands in 102Nb are proposed to be semi-decoupled bands where the odd proton with [iopmath latex="$\Omega_{\rm p} = \case{1}{2}$"] p = ½ [/iopmath] is coupled to the rotation axis and odd neutron with [iopmath latex="$\Omega _{\rm n} \neq \case{1}{2}$"] n½ [/iopmath] is strongly coupled to the deformation axis of the 100Zr deformed core. The likely orbitals are [iopmath latex="$\pi \case{1}{2}[431]$"] ½[431] [/iopmath] and [iopmath latex="$\nu \case{5}{2}[532]$"] 3/2[532] [/iopmath] .
