Abstract:

One of us (DB) is indebted to M Cornille for pointing out to him that the above paper and a previous article published in 2000 [1] could be misunderstood to imply that the spontaneous emission rate and the collisional de-excitation rate have been calculated in this body of work. The authors would like to take the opportunity to replace the first sentence of the first paragraph in section 4 of the above article, and the second paragraph of section 5 in [1], by: [BR] [/BR] We have used the spontaneous emission rate and the collisional de-excitation rate calculated in previous works [2, 3].
