Dans ses publications récentes, Hélène Cixous, née en 1937 en Algérie coloniale, interroge le rôle destinal qu’ont joué ses origines juives, doublement séfarade et ashkénaze. Dans sa recherche autobiographique, elle s’occupe certes de questions de l’histoire et de l’appartenance, mais elle s’intéresse surtout aux langages et aux discours qui constituent la judéité. La judéité étant dès lors un sujet à lire, cet article se propose de suivre certains signifiants à partir desquels ou contre lesquels l’auteur énonce son identité juive.
